A silky-smooth balm that protects your baby’s skin in a very different way from the zinc oxide formulas made with petrolatum. Rather than creating a thick layer on top of your baby’s skin, our Baby Bum Balm nourishes it with natural nutrients like fatty acids, vitamins, enzymes and proteins, building blocks for healthy new skin. It forms a thin layer of oil and beeswax that repels moisture and protects your baby’s skin, naturally.

Deeply moisturising, rich and packed with pure and natural oils, it leaves your baby’s skin soft and supple.

Active Ingredients

Coconut Oil is an excellent emollient with a sweet fragrant smell. It helps skin retain its moisture and has antimicrobial and disinfectant properties. Coconut oil contains Vitamin E with skin-nourishing properties. It is primarily composed of saturated fats and medium-chain fatty acids, which not only help to repair the skin barrier and trap water, they also reduce inflammation. Its combination of anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-bacterial and hydrating properties makes coconut oil truly unique. Research has shown that from the use of coconut oil, skin hydration improves and surface lipids remain intact. It softens and nourishes dry skin.

Sweet Almond Oil is superbly rich in Vitamins E and D and minerals such as calcium, potassium and magnesium. It also has a high content of Vitamin A, Oleic Acid and Linoleic Acid. Known for keeping skin soft and supple, sweet almond oil soothes irritated skin and can help restore the normal pH of the skin. Its light texture absorbs easily into the skin, keeping it moisturised for longer. As a mild and hypoallergenic oil, it’s safe for sensitive skin, including baby skin.

Apricot Kernel Oil has a high Gamma Linoleic Acid (GLA) content which enables the skin to maintain its moisture balance. Hydrating and anti-inflammatory, it is a natural moisturiser for any type of skin.

Shea Butter comes from the nut of the Shea Tree which is indigenous to Africa. It is easily absorbed and can soothe, hydrate and balance your skin. Shea butter is a great moisturiser and has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. We use raw unrefined Shea butter that contains Vitamins A and E as well as essential fatty acids.

Beeswax helps to calm irritated and dry skin, it is anti-inflammatory and antibacterial. Its natural barrier properties help to create a protective layer against irritants, while still allowing the skin to breathe. A great source of Vitamin A, beeswax helps to lock in moisture for soft, supple, hydrated skin and is beneficial in the treatment of nappy rash and other bacterial skin conditions.

Lavender has antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiseptic and analgesic properties which also make it highly effective for soothing the skin. It has a long history of use in natural remedies too thanks to its calming scent.

Calendula or Marigold has been used in India since ancient times. According to Ayurvedic healing principles, it is energetically cooling. In traditional Chinese medicine, calendula is used to support healthy skin. Calendula stimulates blood cells deep in the dermis, speeding up circulation and bringing healing power to the skin’s surface.

Innately Self-Preserving

This amazing product does not contain water therefore does not need any broad spectrum preservative. Its special formulation of 100% natural ingredients gives it its smooth texture, which melts on contact with the skin. We avoid the use of synthetic thickeners, stabilisers, solvents or binders, so the texture of our Baby Bum Balm may be subject to the temperature of the environment it is stored in. Our Baby Bum Balm does not contain any fragrance.

It can be used as a nappy change cream on your baby’s bum or anywhere else on their body where a little lubrication and protection is needed.

This balm is suitable for new babies and toddlers, kids and adults with sensitive skin or sensitivity to essential oils. 

Important: Before use always test on a small area of your baby’s skin and wait 24 hours to ensure no irritation occurs.
